Stanton Moore and Tipitina’s
Tipitina’s has been a New Orleans stable since 1977. Described by some as the “Madison Square Garden of New Orleans,” the venue has fostered generations of New Orleans royalty including Ivan Neville, Dr. John, Professor Longhair, Big Freedia, and Trombone Shorty.
In 2018, Tipitina’s was facing imminent closure, when the news broke about new ownership: New Orleans funk superstars Galactic. Referring to themselves exclusively as “stewards” of the space, the band has infused renewed dignity, not only renovating the green rooms and installing new equipment, but rededicating the space to the vibrant New Orleans community that it supports.
Join Galactic drummer and Tipitina’s co-owner Stanton Moore as he sits down with General Manager Brian “Tank” Greenberg.
