Grieves and The Crocodile
For the past 30 years, The Crocodile in Seattle has welcomed artists like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Macklemore, and Lizzo, cementing its status as an iconic venue. In 2020, in the midst of an already devastating pandemic, the building owner refused to renew The Crocodile’s lease.
But extinction was never an option, and when a 30,000 square foot space became available just five blocks away, The Crocodile decided that it was time to evolve and even expand: Three stages, two bars, and a top-floor hotel.
Join our guest host, Hip Hop Artist Grieves, as he chats with Talent Buyer Hunter Motto to learn what it means to expand a legacy into a new space.
Celebrating the spirit of independence, 'Independent Venue Speak' dives into the spaces where culture is created. Hosted by a different guest artist each month, this podcast focuses on how one specific venue has shaped the narrative in their music community.
'Independent Venue Speak' is produced by Marauder in partnership with See Tickets.
