Alanna Royale and EXIT/IN
In this episode of the Independent Venue Speak podcast, we’re heading to the heart of Nashville’s Rock Block, with EXIT/IN founded in 1971. If you’ve seen the wall of fame at EXIT/IN, you know it has hosted many iconic artists - we’re talking John Prine, X, Jason and the Scorchers, Garbage - it’s an impressive history.
Now, we have a recent announcement that the landlord has sold the building. The legendary EXIT/In will be closing after 51 years in operation. So today we’re celebrating a half-century of memories.
Chris Cobb grew up going to EXIT/IN. Nearly two decades ago, after working at the venue for a few years, he and his wife Telisha bought the venue. He has been a part of the culture for a long time.
Today Cobb is joined by Alanna Royale, an incredible Nashville-based artist that has played EXIT/IN on numerous occasions and is loved and adored by everyone there. She jumped right back into touring after the pandemic and is here to chat, from the road, about her experience with EXIT/IN and the Nashville music scene.
